Synopsis:

Oscar and Golden Globe-winner Denzel Washington ("Philadelphia," "The Hurricane") stars with Academy Award-nominee Angela Bassett ("Waiting to Exhale," "What's Love Got To Do With It?") in a sweeping epic from acclaimed filmmaker Spike Lee ("Do the Right Thing," "Jungle Fever"). One of the most charismatic and politically controversial voices in history, Malcolm X burst into the public consciousness with a radical perspective on race relations in America. His inspiring and enlightening ideologies touched and continue to influence the lives of millions. The New York Film Critic's Circle awarded Denzel Washington Best Actor for his role in what Newsday calls "an extraordinary movie...powerful and compelling. Denzel Washington's performance is a tour de force!"

I received neither my order or a response to e-mail requests for tracking. Very upset. First and last order with this seller.

5 out of 5 stars A Must For All People Around The World   February 8, 2010

As a baby boomer growing up in the South during the 60's, I was always told that Malcom X was the violent of the leaders of the struggle of African Americans, in contrast to Martin Luther King. After watching this magnificent film, and reading THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MALCOM X by Alex Haley, I have to say that my perspective of Malcom X has been drastically altered. He was a visionary and Spike Lee's movie portrays him as such. Denzel Washington's performance is absolutely riveting. The screenplay is 98% accurate, and I should say all of the supporting actors are just fantastic. We see the metamorphasis of a human being, ready to die if neccessary for the cause for justice and freedom. A Must See For All People Around The World!

5 out of 5 stars Malcolm X   January 26, 2010

I have seen this movie on countless occasions. I have found myself having to replace it after purchasing it several times because I never get it back upon loaning it out. This is a masterful work of art that takes you through the history of Malcolm Little to Malcolm X to Malik El Hajj Shabazz. I consider this movie a must see for all Americans before leaving this world. I rate this movie on the same list of importance as visiting Washington D.C. and New York City. If you think being an American is more than just a birth right you will definitely appreciate this movie. The movie is quite long and kinda of drags in some areas, but if you gain some background on Malcolm before viewing the movie you'll understand. This is a very entertaining, but complex movie on a very complex man.
Two thumbs up!!!

Biographical drama on the life of the late Malcolm X, who was assassinated on February 21, 1965. A black man who went from jail to leading a revolution. This is a great educational movie, to help everybody learn about Malcolm X. Denzel Washington gives an outstanding performance, no one else could have done it so well. The DVD I have, has a special feature documentary of the real Malcolm X. I've never seen anyone more charismatic than him.

THE MOVIE WAS A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT AFTER READING THE BOOK(AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MALCOM X BY ALEX HALEY). THE MOVIE HAD SOME GREAT ACTORS LIKE DENZEL WASHINGTON AND YET, IT WAS STILL VERY DULL. "DIRECTOR" SPIKE LEE RUINED A GREAT CHANCE OF TELLING THE AMAZING STORY OF MALCOM X.
